We dined for a late Sunday breakfast, made reservations just in case, was seated promptly and service was quick. Reasonable prices and a good staple breakfast menu, I'll be back and add it to my rotation of local options. ”

“ What a lovely neighborhood restaurant! When we came by on a Saturday evening in January, the restaurant was packed and quite cozy. Definitely make a reservation! We heard great things about the martinis, and they did not disappoint! I tried a espresso martini and a dirty martini - both were delicious and quite a steal at $8 per martini! For appetizers, we split the shrimp kickers and the bourbon bacon brie. The shrimp kickers was described as SPICY and they delivered a throat clearing spiciness! I loved the cheesy grits that accompanied the shrimp. The bourbon bacon brie was decadent and yummy as well. For the main, I had the mushroom ravioli. So good! I am a big mushroom fan and this was a celebration of umami flavors. This restaurant is such a steal for quality and price point. We also felt so comfortable and at home here, with very friendly staff looking after us. I look forward to coming back! ”

“ It can seem like such a cliche' when someone compares a bar/restaurant to "Cheers"...all the usual platitudes and aphorisms come to mind: "Staff treats you like a lifelong friend!" "Such a friendly atmosphere!" And so on. But is this just a sense of familiarity and comfort that puts a sheen on an otherwise mediocre experience? Well, I'm happy to say that with Ramparts, this is definitely not the case. A long standing Fairlington institution, Ramparts is a classic neighborhood joint, offering largely American fare, with an eye toward consistency and a fair value for money. There are daily M-F specials for burgers, tacos, wings, BBQ, and seafood, and monthly specials as well. Factor in a terrific M-F 4-7 happy hour and NFL/other sports game day specials, too. There are two options for diners, the sports bar side with a large bar, booths, and high tops, plus a separate area more suited for dining and families (also boasting a decent sized bar). I recommend their salads (the Cobb salad is especially good), wings, fried catfish, and burgers. Also, the happy hour buffalo salmon BLT sandwich is an amazing deal for $8. Service is attentive, friendly, and welcoming whether you are a regular or a first timer. From the bar managers to the servers, everyone does their part to ensure a quality experience in comfortable surroundings. Also a great place to strike up a conversation, meet people, and watch sports. ”

“ A family favorite with something on the menu for everyone and every appetite. Friendly and accommodating staff. Good service. During the height of the pandemic they created a really nice patio out front, and we've made frequent use of the ample seating there. I have to comment on their wonderful house-made potato chips, which for some reason barely get a mention on the menu. They're so good that I've been known to plan my entire meal around these chips. ”

“ Brought my daughter here for a quick mommy-daughter lunch date the other day. It was a great, delicious and low key meal. She got the grilled cheese kids meal and I ordered the Cobb salad with crispy chicken. It might've been the best Cobb salad I've ever had. Between their deliciously crispy chicken and their ranch dressing, I was in heaven. And the salad was huge - easily at least two meals. The service was great, too. I don't remember my main server's name, but she was super sweet. The entire team seems to work really well together, too. The manager was wearing a dope cardigan and checked on our table a few times. He was super nice. Anyway, I'll def be back. Food is good. Portions are big. Prices are reasonable. ”

“ So good! Came in right when they opened at 11 Saturday. There were so many yummy choices on the menu and they have brunch specials too! Our waitress was wonderful and kind. The food was excellent. Seating was good. Outside tables too. Would love to come back and try brunch. Prices were on par. Portions were large. Everything was hot and made fresh. Couldn't complain even if I wanted to.
